Arts
A Well-Rounded Experience
The administration of Ecole Classique realizes that the whole child must be educated. As a result, the curriculum of Ecole Classique includes music, art, and drama.
On the elementary level, these courses are offered as enrichment classes. On the secondary level, the students are able to join the drama club, chorus and art club as extracurricular activities.
In addition, all high school students must take one course in Fine Arts that is set up as a music and art appreciation course.
Blending Music and Art
Chorus is available to students in all grades. Musical appreciation programs are also offered to broaden each student’s understanding of musical theory and its cultural significance.
Art classes are offered for elementary school students, as well as elementary and middle school learning center classes. Mediums include pen-and-ink sketching, acrylic painting, sculpture and collage.

Apprentices
Ecole Classique Apprentices is our version of a drama club. Each spring, our students stage a musical theater performance under the direction of David Federico, Barbara Pfeffer and Sandy Coplen.
All students are encouraged to try out for a part or participate in the production in some way. Those who participate learn a lot about commitment and teamwork.
The sense of accomplishment when the play is performed after months of rehearsal is a one-of-a-kind experience that our students cherish for years to come.

Our Key Club
Ecole Classique’s nationally recognized Key Club is a focused on building character and developing leadership skills through community service and development. As a student-led organization, Key Club allows students to participate in a variety of service and fundraising projects that benefit the community, our school and other charitable organizations.
Our Key Club was established on October 11, 1988, and is sponsored by the Dawn Busters Kiwanis of Metairie.
With the hard work of our members and the help of our dedicated faculty sponsor, Lorilei Songy, we have been selected as one of only two schools in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee that are ranked as a Diamond Level Key Club.
Key Club is open to all students. Middle school students are able to participate in our Builder’s Club (the precursor to Key Club).
